Code of Conduct
Our code of conduct is held at the highest standard of ethics and professional excellence regardless of job, function or cultural differences which we might have. It provides a direction to the way we approach our work. Our ethics and commitment are not restricted to signing this Code but goes much beyond.
- To act with integrity, competence, diligence, respect and in an ethical manner with the organization, our stakeholders, donors and beneficiaries.
- To place the integrity of Natun Para Kali Bari Trust and the interest of beneficiaries above personal interests.
Values that Support this Code
Natun Para Kali Bari Trust has 3 main values as its foundation- responsibility, respect, and honesty.
Responsibility: Responsibility is our duty to take ownership for the decisions we make and or actions we take or fail to take, and the consequences that result.
We make decisions and take actions based on the interest of society and our organisation.
We fulfill commitments we undertake to the best of our ability and capacity.
When we make errors or omissions, we take ownership and make corrections promptly. We accept accountability for any issues and consequences resulting from the same.
We inform ourselves and uphold policies, rules, regulations, laws that govern our work, professional and volunteer activities.
We report unethical or illegal conduct to appropriate management and, if necessary, to those affected by the conduct.
Respect: Respect is our duty to show a high regard for ourselves, others, and the resources entrusted to us which entail trust and confidence to encourage diverse perspectives and values.
We inform ourselves about the norms and customs of others to avoid engaging in behavior which may be considered disrespectful.
We listen to others’ point of view, and conduct ourselves in a professional manner.
We negotiate in good faith.
We do not exercise the power of our expertise or position to influence decisions or actions of others for personal benefit.
We do not act in abusive manner towards others.
Honesty: Honesty is our duty to understand the truth and act in a truthful manner both in our communication and in our conduct.
We seek to understand the truth and are truthful in our communications and conduct. We provide accurate information in a timely manner.
We make commitments, implied or explicit in good faith.
We strive to create an environment in which others feel safe to tell the truth.
We do not engage in behavior that is designed to deceive others, including but not limited to, making misleading or false statements, stating half-truths, providing information out of context or withholding information that, if known, could render statements as misleading.
We must not engage in any conduct that compromises the reputation & integrity of Natun Para Kali Bari Trust and its Code.
Miscommunication and/or Misunderstanding
While communicating either verbally or written, we will act in good faith and strive to be accurate.
During the process, if a misunderstanding or miscommunication occurs or has the possibility, we will address it with the appropriate discussion & communication.
We truthfully present facts as best known to us.
We understand and fully cooperate with Natun Para Kali Bari Trust Management during investigation, discovery, and resolution of the situation at hand.
Conflict of Interest Solutions
We proactively and fully disclose real and/or potential conflicts of interest.
